Strawberry jam tarts

Today I have been doing some baking and the tarts turned out so well that I decided to share the recipe. This recipe makes two small tarts. Here is the recipe for strawberry jam tarts (or if you are American Strawberry ‘jelly’ tarts).
Ingredients for pastry:
– 80g plain flour.
– 25g sugar.
– 40g butter.
– 3ml (or more) water.
Ingredients for filling:
– 90g strawberry jam.
– 1/2 vanilla pod.
Method;- Preheat your oven to 190 degrees.
1. Weigh out your flour, sugar and butter and add it into a large bowl.
2. Using your hands, rub in the mixture until the butter, sugar and flour are together.
3. Start by adding 3ml of water and using a round bladed knife bring your mixture together. If it doesn’t come together you will need to add more water.
4. Once you have brought your mixture together, flour your table and rolling pin and knead your dough. Once it is kneaded you turn your dough over and start to roll out the dough making it big enough to fit the 2 cookie cutters on it.
5. After your dough is rolled to the right size, using the cookie cutters cut out your 2 bases for your tart and put them on your tart tray.
6. Get your filling and mix it together in a small bowl. Once the filling is mixed, spoon the filling between the two tarts.
7. Put your tarts in the oven and leave them for 15-20 minutes. Your pastry should be golden brown when it is finished.
8. Serve and decorate. I decorated mine with coconut and strawberries, but cream is always good too! Enjoy! – xo
